Cross Wellness is a unique, interactive approach to drug prevention and student wellness that is different from existing, historical methods.

The core inspiration for Cross Wellness derives not only from personal but shared experiences. Hundreds of thousands of people have had their lives affected by the modern opioid/drug epidemic. For last 6 years, founder Jon Cross has been directly working with schools, rehabilitation facilities, and as an LADC.

In his experiences, Jon has witnessed first-hand despair and destruction caused by poor mental health and drug addiction in our society. This state of despair and destruction has continued despite D.A.R.E programs in schools over the past few decades. The continuation of the war on drugs and many other anti-drug programs focus their education and treatment practices on creating awareness of the dangers of drugs through scare tactics and “just say no” ideology. The failures of these misguided treatment practices have been the catalyst of this program. Jon decided to share from personal experience and research what has been proven to work for him.

Jon believes that he has created a new, more desirable education program by using age old mindfulness practices to target and prevent drug addiction. This program focuses on teaching the importance of general well-being, morality, and responsibility. Jon’s philosophy is that drugs in our society have shown themselves to be inevitable and are not inherently the problem. In fact, many in the darkest times of their lives turn to drugs as a solution to avoid their pain, feelings, and reality. Jon aims to focus his curriculum not on substances or avoidance, but rather on educating to provide tools for personal growth and mindfulness that prevent drug addiction.

These practices yield success by helping individuals gain the ability to overcome adversity, change, and without ever feeling the need to turn to drugs. Substances fill a void for drug users when they feel something is missing. In this program Jon aims to rid this void through personal growth with a focus on improving the quality of life for the individual.
